Sonder Dee Why — Men's Barber on the Northern Beaches
Our Story
Where Sonder started. The first shop opened in Dee Why in 2019, two big ideas and not much money behind it. There wasn't even enough for an air conditioner that first summer. But the industry was shifting, more scissor work, more of a blend between the salon and the barbershop, and nothing like it was happening out on the Northern Beaches yet. So Sonder built it. Dee Why is still home base, the room every other shop grew out of, and most of the senior team came up through here. If you've been to any Sonder shop across Sydney, this is the one they all came from.
Parking
The best spots are right outside the shop on Pittwater Road, though that stretch is clearway from 3pm to 7pm on weekdays, so plan around it in the late afternoon. Otherwise the Dee Why Library car park is just across the road on St Davids Avenue (opposite Dee Why Police Station), about a 2 minute walk. There's also the Meriton car park, with entries on Howard Avenue and Oaks Avenue.
Public Transport
The shop is right on the B-Line on Pittwater Road, so it's an easy ride in from anywhere across the Northern Beaches. The Dee Why B-Line stop is about a 2 minute walk away. Minutes from Dee Why Beach and a short trip from Manly.
Services
Every haircut at Sonder starts with a proper consultation. We take the time to understand what you're after before anyone picks up the clippers, because that's where a good cut is won or lost. From there it's whatever suits you, a skin fade, a classic cut, a scissor cut or a buzz, plus full beard work from a quick tidy-up to a proper shape and fade.
First time in? Every service has a New Client option with extra time so we can get to know your hair properly.
